Campus Ministry
College can be a challenging time, filled with various temptations, personal struggles, and the experience of being away from home. During this period, it’s easy to feel disconnected from your faith. That’s why we’re here to help you maintain a strong and growing relationship with God. Join us for fellowship, and don’t forget to bring a friend! We want this church to feel like your home away from home. If you have a passion for singing, teaching, or helping others, there’s a place for you here! Huntsville is home to several colleges and universities, including Alabama A&M, the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Drake State Technical College, and Calhoun Community College, among others. We see ourselves as your supportive church Family away from home. Here’s what we offer:
Transportation: We provide transportation for those who need assistance with shopping, doctor’s appointments, or simply exploring the town.
Bible Study on Campus: We host Bible studies that focus on contemporary issues and topics to enrich your spiritual journey.
Community Engagement: We believe in serving others! Join us in various community service projects, such as feeding the homeless, tutoring children, and assisting the elderly.
Fun Nights/Game Nights: Enjoy home-cooked meals or dine out with us! We organize bowling nights, outings to entertainment venues, and engaging board game sessions.
Adopt-a-Student Program: Members of the church will adopt a student, offering spiritual support, guidance, and a caring relationship throughout your college experience.
Mirror Me Program: Northwest has a vibrant and growing Campus Ministry. It is led by Deacons Robert Pope and Dennis Crutcher. Northwest CoC campus ministry is fortunate to have a direct connection to Alabama A&M University through Sis. Andrain Yeldell Jones. At the request of two dorm directors, Sis. Yeldell Jones (Dr.J as she is known on campus) established the “Mirror Me” program in 2024 at A&M. The purpose of “Mirror Me” is to help Freshmen students transition from being in high school to a student at the collegiate level. The program has three points of focus: Admiration (spiritual growth), Academic (mentors/tutors), and Aspirations (guest speakers). Therefore, the program has Bible Study, guest speakers, and other activities to bond with the students. Currently, three dorms participate with the “Mirror Me” program – Hopkins Hall (male), Terry Hall (female), and Thigpen Hall (female). The strong partnership with Sis. Yeldell Jones’ “Mirror Me” program has allowed the ministry to touch the life of students who have never experienced a relationship with God.
We’re excited to walk alongside you during this pivotal time in your life, helping you stay rooted in your faith while building meaningful connections. Join us, and let’s make this college experience a memorable one together!
